What you'll need:
Two small bowls/containers
Castille soap or baby shampoo
Vinegar
Melaleuca (tea tree) essential oil
Lavender essential oil
In the first container put 3 drops of melaleuca and a small amount of Castile soap or baby shampoo then fill 3/4 full with water. I prefer Castile soap because it doesn't contain harmful chemicals and parabens. Melaleuca has been used for centuries for its cleansing properties. It is antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral.
In the second container put 3 drops of lavender and then fill 3/4 full with vinegar. Vinegar is also antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral. Lavender has antibacterial and antiviral properties and will leave your brushes smelling nice as an added bonus.
Now you're ready to clean your brushes! First rinse off any excess paint or makeup from your brush.
Next, gently swish your brush around in the soap and melaleuca mixture. Rinse off the brush while gently separating the bristles.
Once your brush is clean rinse it in the vinegar and lavender mixture.
Then lay it flat to dry so that moisture doesn't get down into the ferrule of the brush.
